Yes..saw that today. Things do change. Pakistan was under extreme pressure.
This is the clip from Pakistan's 'Dawn' newspaper:
"President assures US unstinted cooperation in fight against terrorism: ISLAMABAD, Sep 13: President General Pervez Musharraf said Pakistan is a peace loving country and joins the international community in condemning terrorism which is a danger to humanity and human civilization and assured the US government of its coorporation.(sic)" (APP)(Posted @ 23:50 PST)
I guess the point President Bush (sr.) was trying to make was that the CIA and other security forces are hamstrung by procedures that prohibit the hiring of people who, if you had your druthers, you would not deal with but who are necessary, over the longer term, to get to the worst of the fanatics.
Other people are saying you need to deal with the "why" of all this. I think that can come later, or during, but not necessarily now.
I just noticed that the Canadian body count is coming in (I'm in Canada). We are said to have lost 60-100 people in the towers. The Brits have lost over 200 they figure.
After all, this was a "World" trade center.
