People who like Saabs don't buy the bigger is better thing? It is hype?
Sometimes bigger is better. Sometimes not. Depends on what you do. I like my Saab and I like my Tahoe. Now I won't claim my 1500 Series Chevy has "performance" if you define it in 0-60 times (mind you the base 9-3 isn't exactly a contender here)or fuel consumption, but it sure does out-perform the front drive, short wheel base, low ground clearance 4 banger in snow, on icy highways, on dirt tracks in the mountains, when pulling my boat, on slippery launch ramps, in carrying lots of stuff, etc. And on all those counts, if I can choose my Tahoe and leave the 9-3 at home, the 9-3 stays at home and looks cute. The Tahoe's A/C, stereo, interior fittings are better, too and the dash is well laid out. Is that performance or versatility? As far as versatility and safety, I think the big Chevies rate right up there. Others don't, but not all cars do, either.
So, as far as I am concerned if GM wanted to stick a SAAB plate on the Suburban, fine. It would add another useful vehicle to the line.
Anyhow, since you mentioned 'burbans I thought I'd speak up. I am not speaking up for the non-1500/2500 series GMs.
