Personally, I prefer the 9000 over any other model, but my 2nd choice would be the C900 (1979-1993)... the 9000 is a bigger car inside but actually shorter overall... it's very much a matter of personal preference and opinion... a lot of people complain about reliability of NG 900 models... I would go for the newest 9000 I could find (the 1998 CSE with 5-spd is especially nice - it has the 225 hp Aero engine and 16" super aero wheels... though if you want an automatic, you only get the 200 hp engine...)... there are still plenty of nice Classic 900's about... whatever SAAB you buy, the most important thing is that is has been well maintained - maintainance records are worth paying a premium for. For info on practically every 9000 model check out quasis' site (i think it's http://quasimotors.gar.net). There are plenty of these cars out there, so you can be a fussy buyer. Exactly how many are available depends on where you are, but the Northeast has many! Good luck!
