like others have stated
fog lights are a low wide beam designed to stay very low thus a minimum glare in your eyes in heavy fog. They are used with low beams
Driving lights are actually designed for use with high beams. They have a very narrow beam & are focused many times ahead of the bright lights, kind of like rally cars :o)
Daytime running lights are simply for other cars to see you. I always keep the lights on in my 87 & 88 SPG & when daytime running lights were originally coming out, it was amusing how many people would waive, flash their lights or tell me my lights were on.
I thought canada did a test & cars with lights on were 70-80% less likely to be in a accident when compared to the same car w/o lights on.
