E-code headlights may be the best answer....

I found on my NG900 the stock DOT headlights just couldn’t do the job no matter what I tried (over wattage bulbs, PIAA super whites, Sylvania xtra-vision, etc.). I finally replaced my stock headlights with European E-code headlights from Daniel Stern at Stern Lighting http://lighting.mbz.org/ . After several e-mails and phone calls to Daniel, we worked out what my priorities were and the best solution. Having lived in Oregon he was familiar with the rain and fog problems out here in Seattle. His recommendation was E-code headlights and stock bulbs. I paid about $425 for the new E-code headlights and it took maybe 20 minutes to install. Just a few screws to remove and the new headlights fit right in.
The E-code headlights with stock 55/60 watt bulbs are really great. Lots of light and a good tight beam. And E-code headlights are legal in Washington State, not that anyone would ever hassle you in most states anyway.
I also found a good place for headlight bulbs. Autlamps-Online http://www.autolamps-online.com/ carries the Philips bulbs including the yellow tinted Allweather/Weathervision bulbs which I have in my fog lights and the Premium (30% more light that regular bulbs) and VisionPlus (50% more light than a regular bulb). I am currently using the Philips Premium H4 bulbs. They have lasted for about a year and a half with no problems.
