I admit that I read a little too much into the original post. But everything that APR says about Garrett turbos and VeeDubs is also true for the Audi A4 and TT 1.8T engine. And the intercooler stuff as well - the tiny stock Audi intercooler is waaay too small for sustained hard driving when the engine has been chipped and tweaked. I guess I just automatically made the Audi/ VW connection in my mind.
The 4Motion system is quattro by another name. Unfortunately you have to buy a fully specced Passat to get it. I agree that a hotted up AWD Golf or Jetta would be a real fun drive.
I sure wish there was a Saab tuner that offered as many well engineered goodies at reasonable cost as APR does for Audi. They are producing some wonderful parts, like their inconel exhaust manifold and their jewel-like exhaust systems. Their site is worth a visit even if you don't have one of those German cars.
Check out their dyno graph for their Stage 3+ 1.8T kit - whooee! That is a lot of power out of 1.8 liters!! Over 300 ft lbs torque from 3100 rpm to 5700 rpm!
