They wanted me to bring my Way-Back machine to Atlanta when I moved here so they could go to pre-Transplant days. But the warranty ran out a few years ago and I can only get vacuum tubes from Russia now. It'll only take me back to 1974. I *hate* earth tones.
But ....................................... being able to go back and see Nixon resign again and again and again makes it all worthwhile.
It's a dog's life.
But, seriously, GM has kept SAAB out of the orphan category. Let's see: the names of American car Marques that have gone by the wayside that I can think of off the top of my head include Studebaker, Hudson, Nash, Packard, DeSoto, Plymouth, LaSalle, Kaiser. We'd all be paying a s***load more money for our parts if SAAB was left to die without GM's cash infusion. The platforms SAAB would have to work with (if it were still around) would be pitifully out of date, and it would not be able to compete.
