Saabs aren't hard to sell at all Posted by Adam [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Why is it so hard to sell a Saab?, Samba, Thu, 10 Jan 2002 17:35:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
if you lower your price. Very few cars depreciate the way Saabs do and most folks looking realize this and that is the problem. You are asking too much for your car - more than the market will bear.
Saabs have historically horrible (yes horrible) depreciation and this has been made worse by the general decline in the used market.
Most people ask too much for their car and this is only compounded by it being a Saab. Edmunds/KBB/etc are way high on most cars and certainly on Saab.
I recently purchased an MB E320 (2000) and in the process for kicks I had the dealers I was looking at appraise my NEW 9-5 Wagon (2001 with 2000 miles on). The sticker on the car was $41K. Carmax (usually very good on trades) offered $22.5K and the MB dealer offered $26.5K!!! And, I was buying another car from them! This is life with a Saab (which we love).
You didn't provide any details but I would bet that you are 30-50% higher than reasonable. Lower your price.
