I am opting for a Shelter Kit Barn or something from Maine Barn Company (my garage wil be located in Maine). I opted for the barn vs. garage on several issues. The main one being I can add a 2 bedroom unit in the upstairs and rent it out during the summer months to offset the construction cost. Also....it helps to justify heating the garage/barn. Since I am pouring a concrete base/floor I am running copper pipe through it to have a radiant heated garage, not that much money and will again, add to the heating of the unit above.
If budget allows, a Backyard Buddy is not too expensive to throw in either. http://www.backyard-buddy.com. They have a variety of lifts and such. I'll post pics when mine is finished.
