Getting tired (help me decide!!!)

First question - WHY ON EARTH did Saab put 205/50/16's on the 9-3? There's NOTHING in this size... Looks like I have to go to 55s...
Main question - I live in Seattle. I've hated every set of OE Goodyear's that has come with any car I've ever bought. They have DIDDLY for traction in wet or (it's been snowing here lately - rarely does, but this pushed me over the edge) winter weather.
That said, I'm giving the crappy OE Goodyears on my 01 SE the old heave ho. I think I've come down to two tires that meet my needs (in order):
1: Good in wet weather
2: Good all around
3: Quiet
4: Not insane treadwear (>=30K Miles/set)
The contenders?
Yokohama AVS dB -

and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

Looking around the net, TireRack, deja, here... I can't find a bad word about either one (rather, found good words about both). Neither has any treadlife warranty (that seems odd to me... Does anyone do treadwear warranties anymore? :-/ ) The big deciding factor thus far seems to be that the Michelins cost $178 (Y speed rating) and the Yokohamas cost $99.
I've heard that Michelins are overpriced - but this seems ridiculous for tires that are the same "purpose (A/S performance)". Anyone have advise/experience with one or the other?
I'm not going to 17"'s because when I had them on my GTI it ate tires like crazy.
THX!
Wes
