Their performance was really good, but I think that the media needs to stop all this go-USA stuff. Look, I love my country and like most human beings, everything that happened on 9-11 really sucked and hurt everyone, now why does the media have to keep shoving this down our throats? Enough already. The media is going to push this as far as they can, and believe me they now exactly how far they can push our psyches until we begin to question all the flag-wavving, to get the most money, etc out of this. The media is basically taking advantage of 9-11. When Tom Brokaw cried on the David Letterman show, I know that was real, but now... come on. Did we really need a whole hour of pictures of the World Trade Center exploding before the superbowl was about to be played? They knew we would watch (I did, too) but there comes a point where they need to shut up or else patriotism is going to lose its meaning just like everything else our popular culture gets its hands on. They will shove it down our throats until we can't take it anymore and then theyll have no more money/ratings to suck out of us.
As for what Republicans think of Bono, well they can go screw themselves. If they had two cents they would look around and realize that there are virtually no other figures in our popular culture who are openly pro-religion like U2, and they should be able to put up with the fact that they're Catholic. Republicans don't care whose party it is.... if there aren't guns, God, and Glory present, they will piss all over it.
