Hell, I don't know, but every tranny I have heard of that has an input shaft seal leak has to be seperated from the engine. The seal fits around the shaft, and there might conceivably be a way to get it out without removing the torque converter, but you sure wouldn't be able to get a new one back in place.
Post your question on the 900 Board - they will know for sure.
BTW, if you have to pull it out of the car and there are more than 150k miles on the tranny, it might be a good idea to take it to a reputable shop, have it opened up and inspected, and have any problems fixed at that time. It could save you the aggravation of doing all that work again in the near future. Leaks are not always due to a simple seal fault - there may be excessive play in the input bearing, for example.
