Well, yeah, it's great stuff, And I use it too, but it won't fix the chips he has already got, nor prevent them from happening entirely. I think that was the intent of his post.
There is no easy fix for rock chips, other than lots of time and elbow grease.
I strip the wax and bugs and sap and other crap using 3M Bug and Tar Remover - it does not hurt the paint. Then I clean out the chips with a toothpick and more cleaner, touch up using another toothpick, sand level with 2000 grit wet or dry paper, polish out the scratches and swirl marks, and rewax. It's truly a pain in the butt to do, but it's either that or a detail shop.
Griot's garage has excellent products for touch-up and polishing. Ask for a catalog. Lots of high quality stuff and excellent service, but expensive.
They have a polishing kit that includes an electric buffer and all the supplies that you might consider purchasing. Also consider ordering their car car handbook. It is a little bit misleading because it refers to Griot's own products, but it is an excellent reference for all your car care questions.
I am a happy Griot's customer.
