I am driving home and see 3 cars at an intersection talking to each other. I figure they are playing around since near by there is an empty road with two lanes each way where guys line up and race a little.
The cars were a BMW Z-3, Toyota Celica GTS, and an Acura Integra type R.
I saw this as an opportunity to see what the 92 9kt can do after a few mods. I asked them if they were playing a bit and they said yes, so I said which one of you is the fastest? the bimmer guy said he was, well do you want to run a little old saab? see if I can hang with you? Sure he says and we all headed out towards the end of the road with the Celica next to me and the other two behind me. The GTS goes wot and I take off after him and bring him in easy and I have plenty but don't show it. The bimmer tried to pass at that point but I walked on him then I backed off. To my surprisse as we make the U turn and I wait for him to line up the Integra takes off going south away from us and the other two don't wait for me and go east, I was waiting for him to line up but both of them took off. WTF? so I chase and the guy waves me off like saying "nah its ok forget it" I don't get it one minute they want to race and just like that they are leaving. I think they got scared I got the impression they thought I was a cop or something and ignored my attempts to get something going. Maybe they saw that I wasn't an old little saab but a 300hp air sucking monster and decided against it. Man I wish I would have waited to let them hear the turbo. I thought I am lucky 3 cars at once, I get to race all 3.......NOT. I hate it when people don't even explain themselves, at the begining we talked and agreed to the set up, two minutes later they are running away like scared cats and don't bother to say why. Oh well.
