If you're looking for a nice cushy ride... You'll need to do more than just changing your tire size. If you put 205/60-15 tires on the car, it will give you a slightly smoother ride, but you'll also have tires which are bigger than the stock 195/50-15 tires, and your speedometer and odometer will be a little off. If tires are the only thing you intend to change, then I would suggest a 185/65-15 tire.
Unfortunately for you, your '90 SPG has very stiff shocks and springs due to the SPG (special PERFORMANCE group) option package. If you really want to smooth out the ride, you should look into replacing your shocks and springs with SAAB "non-turbo" equipment. I'm sure there are lots of people who read this bulletin board who would love to buy some used SPG suspension parts from you, which would keep your cost down.
How many miles are on your car? You may want to check your lower shock absorber bushings, which cause the car to clunk when they wear out. They are very easy to replace, and make a substantial difference in ride quality. Replacing other suspension bushings will smooth out the ride, as well.
