I worked with a guy years ago who had a 2CV . A neat car ! The doors could be removed by simply opening them and lifting them off .The roof was like a roller blind that seemed the only thing that held the 2 corregated parallel sides together . I was always afraid if the roof was opened all the way to the back the 2 sides would fall off . And the seats ! They were canvas slings over tubing .The gearshift looked like a number 1 wood sticking out of the dash and the steel disc wheels had very narrow tires and only 3 bolts !!
I followed one around a "traffic circle" once at about 40 MPH and the body leaned so far over it seemed completely detached from the chassis !
We all called his "The Toaster" . And although he was not an exisentialist by any stretch , he must have had a masochistic streak for I beleive he even planned to drive it through the Montreal winter !!
I wonder what ever happened to that guy ?
