my post from the 9-3 board regarding the new design:
Subject: Pontiac Bonneville?
Date: Thu, 2 May 2002 14:15:27
Yawn,... another GM product. I just bought a 9-3 because it is a unique driver oriented car. I WON'T be buying this to replace it.
At least Ford has not allowed Volvo to become another manufacturer of the Taurus.
Why is GM doing this? Let's hope they get the new Saab designs (9x,etc) implemented quickly!... Saab is going to loose their loyalist, but will have an increase in sales since they are pushing this "mainstream" design philosophy. First-time Saab buyers won't be afraid of this design. They'll just have to decide if they want the Pontiac version with extra plastic cladding on the exterior and V6, or if they want the Saab version with a 4cyl turbo and the "funny computer thingy" on the dash that they'll never figure out.
Just my opinion, maybe it will change when I see one in person.
