Lime Rocks a good time..I usually go for the Memorial Day races every 3 yrs or so..not a die hard racing fan but it is an unusual spectacle to experience ( the raw power, sound and speed of real race cars ). Its not really too crowded...you can find a spot along the fence somewhere of your own..however the fanatics who camp out for the weekend and stake out the best spots can become a bit enraged if you block thier view ! Bear in mind that these are "people" who spend 3 days "camping out" without showers and various other personal hygene niceties, along with lots and lots of assorted grilled and charbroiled meat products always at the ready, washing it down continuously with cans of Anhieser Busch's finest swill, and who are by race day not only inebriated beyond imagination but also quite deaf from lack of earplug useage (they actually hang signs: ( earplugs are for fags/sissys ) I am only there for 5 or 6 hours, wear earplugs when close to the track and still go home with reduced hearing ability. Beware ! Otherwise the paddocks a great place to get a close-up view of the cars and race teams, sometimes the rich and famous, ( Paul Newman ) , Connecticuit's hoidy toidy folk .... Mountain bikes work great for getting around fast, if theres a spin out you want to see in a hurry and your on the other side of the track. The spectator parking lot is a car show in itself.
