Don't do it. I read many rave reviews about this guy before taking my 89 900S there. I'll never trust internet recommendations again.

He *supposedly* did a tune-up, checked my noisy brakes, and installed a new AC compressor. He found nothing wrong with the brakes. $2000 later, I picked the car up and stopped at the supermarket. An hour later, the car WOULD NOT START. Back to JRs. Next day, I picked it up, and he said there was nothing wrong. So I'm driving the next day or so and the car was idling so low, it was stalling constantly. Plus, the AC was barely cold. AND the brakes were still squealing. Back to JRs. He "readjusted" the timing and "fixed" the AC. Now, the engine was idling so high it would accelerate on its own, the brakes were still squealing, and the AC was ok, although not what I'd expect from a NEW compressor. After two more trips to JRs, he "readjusted" the timing yet again, and checked the brakes "thoroughly," still finding no problem. Two weeks later: In addition to the unresolved brake problems, the engine just didn't feel right. So I brought it to my local gas station mechanic, who discovered the brake problem immediately (i needed new pads and the rotors needed sanding). He also informed me that the tune-up was not done--the parts were installed, but no diagnostics were done. Broke and frustrated, I have helplessly watched my AC fade to lukewarm air. The compressor doesn't even turn on now.

Oh, and a month after seeing JR, my fairly new muffler suddenly had a hole in it and needed to be replaced.

I can't stand retelling this story because it frustrates me so much.. it makes me sick to my stomach to think of the time and money I wasted with this guy, but I hope someone can learn from my experience.
