OK, I warned you! At the risk of getting laughed off of this board, is there any way to tell if an ECU has been upgraded by a previous owner? (Yeah, I know, "ask him"). I actually suspect that it was done by the owner prior to the one that I purchased car from, and perhaps unbeknownst to him. It was his first Aero. I'm the third owner and this car just doesn't perform like other Aero's I've driven. (Including a '96 that I also own). Both 5-speeds. It's a 94 and is as far as I can tell stock save for a drop in K/N filter and perhaps slightly higher flow cat that was welded into existing downpipe. Car almost seems slightly lacking in low end and lower mid-range, but downright monstrous from upper midrange on up. Sometimes boosts to the point of fuel cut-off, though this can usually be avoided and sometimes won't happen on it's own. I've never experienced (knowingly) an upgraded ECU and am wondering :
1) What are some of the performance characteristics associated with these?

If anyone out there with a knowledge of this info could stop laughing long enough to respond I'd be grateful.
