Sturz: about those aeros...

Got a question for you: you mention they all performed differently. My question is, how did they *shift* (referring to 5-speeds)?
I'm pretty disappointed with the shifter feel of my '97 aero (bought about 1.5 months ago). Actually think it feels worse than my '86 9KT with 260K miles on it. Although the synchros work better (never any grinding), it feels notchier and less precise. By comparison, my wife's 9-5 feels about 300% better which surprised me given that I think it's the same transmission with a goofy linkage added.
Anyhow, I'm just wondering how the ones you drove shifted - did they seem to vary a lot? What I'm trying to figure out is whether my problem is just sample-to-sample variation, or if something's actually broken.
Thanks!
Eric Law
