The brake light switch on the brake pedal became loose, causing them to stay on while I was in class from 9:00am to 3:00pm (unknown to me). I get back to my car and not even the clock is working the battery is so dead. So as anyone in Virginia is aware, today it was about 100 degrees in Fredericksburg. So I walk a mile to a friends place to get a jump, shes not there, so I walk up Route 3 (no sidewalk, lots of 18 wheelers) for about another 30 minutes. Get to a gas station and buy a Sunkist to keep from collapsing. Then I go to Pep Boys next door and buy one of those battery booster things you keep in the trunk for jumping your car, $75. The checkout girl was really cute though, maybe I need to spend more time in rural Virginia? Anyway, then I carry this heavy geeky big battery booster thing into McDonalds next door and have the greasiest meal I could find, double quarter pounder w/ cheese, large fries. After I eat that, I start my trek back down the highway (the shoulder is about 2 feet wide between the street and wall, no sidewalk). Ugh. Then I finally get back to my car after removing one of my shirts and jump the car. The power booset thing worked very well on the little 2.0 Saab engine. It was like a normal battery, advertised as 580 max cranking amps. I guess thats what a normal Saab 900 battery is like. Anyway, I started the car up and revved it some to boost the battery, then headed onto I-95 and back to Fairfax 50 miles north. Of course the AC in my car doesnt work, but I stopped in Quantico for some more Micky D's dog food and a Sprite. Looking back now, I did get a good tan today though. This dang car breaks down like every other day. Its crazy. I cant wait to get a more reliable car when I'm out of school. -Rob
