I have a laptop at work connected to a docking station with a 17-inch CRT monitor. At home I have a new 15-inch LCD screen that replaced my old CRT. A LCD screen of 15-inches or larger is as easy to view as a CRT type. The biggest drawback of laptop screens in the past was their small size. A lot of the new laptops now come with 15-inch screens. I recommend waiting on the purchase of the LCD screen and port replicator until you have used the laptop for a while and decide then. One purchase you will want to make now is an optical mouse to use with the laptop - those touch pads and wiggle sticks are useless for extended periods
