Why is everyone in an uproar over a 7.5 0-62mph time? Granted it is a little higher than the times posted for the current 9-3, but have you ever raced two cars one that can do 60 in 6.5 seconds and the other that can do it in 7.5 seconds? Guaranteed the 7.5sec car will still be close to the 6.5sec car and could easily outrun the 6.5sec car if the driver has just a little more skill. Besides, aren't SAAB noted for their midrange punch and passing power more than their 0-62 time. What if they tuned the engine for more midrange punch and passing power and decided to loose a little time on launch. Don't forget that this car will be heavier too. I'm sure that everyone will look at the 0-60mph time on the sales slip and see that it is a little slower than a BMW, but you know the SAAB can easily pass the BMW on the highway. You have to drive the SAAB to determine it's power instead of just looking at a very early review of it just on paper. I've seen reviews of the Viggen where the 0-60 times varies by as much as a 0.5 second. I think everyone looks at 0-60 times a little too hard...maybe I'm just getting old. Maybe, the test drivers just hasn't had enough time in teh SAAB to get used to it. Maybe they are testing a mule that has really been slammed and doesn't have a production engine. Maybe...Maybe...Maybe...just wait and see.
