If the press in EU has been all over the car, what point is there in not allowing the US press, and specifically one of the best judges of Saabs - those attedning the SOC, to drive one ( or two even).

SAAB, what gives? ... you've been treated like second class citizens by the press for ever, and here you have a frothing cache of very interested, educated saabophiles, but hte press in EU gets to see it and drive it first - and I thought this was the first global platform car... wouldn't a global roll-out fit the theme?... seems to me(not that *I* have an opinion or anything) it is a golden opportunity to "walk the walk"... the cat is out of the bag.... why wait for some stuffy planned out gala debut, when there is nothing new to show.. by the time the US gets to drive the car it will be moderately old hat... I don't understand why the car is rolled out to the international press, and then some 3-4 months later to the US market.. kinda makes me feel that the US market needs to be kid-gloved or something?

If the new 9-3 is such a great car, why miss the opportunity to put it before some of your most avid fans and serious critics? If the new 9-3 is goign to scare the pants off the EU compitition as we keep readin in reviews from around the globe, what is there to fear from a little test driving on a track..?

.. I know , I know, they already promised the first drives in Sept and have made a big stink about it, but if they bring a couple to the track, honest, I'lll keep quiet... :)

less than two weeks to track days.. and you can still sign up for just the track until the 29th!
