the "on top of install" was done before the motherboard fiasco. as i said before, the current set up is the fresh start with xp.

i haven't tried any other games, not a real big game player, just used to be into d&d growing up, so those type of games grab my attention a little...:)

i guess my big hang up is that it ran fine when i ran xp installed on top of 98. but now with xp loaded alone, it won't run. i'm stumped.

fwiw, i had the game almost won before so now i am going through everything again and it's just not the same. it's almost not worth it to hassle with the problems. i may just dump it. any experience with grand theft auto III...?
