Gradually over the years my headlight assemblied grew dimmer as they clouded over and looked very dull. Facing the posibility of replacing both (not having an accident!) I decided to try to improve them - nothing to lose right. so here is what I did:
1 disconnect all lamps, remove both assemblies -3 bolts (must remove the turn light assemblies first)
2 Fill the headlight assembly about half full of hot water and a nice squirt of Dawn Dish washer soap.
3 slosh the unit for about five minutes then flush until all suds are gone then fill again and add 1 drop of dawn slowly slosh carefully so as not to make a lot of suds and drain all fluid out.
4 carefully scrub the front lens with a green used Scotch brite or 2000 wet or dry finishing paper with lorts of water ---Alternate; power polish with whiting polishing compound or color back cleaner.
5 wax the lens with Siamonize paste wax and buff well.
6 Reverse installation, replace bulbs if you really want to do it right you may now be ready for another 10 years or so. good Saabin y'all
Both of my lenses came back looking like new and now very brite.
