Primarily for me it has to be the affordability of them used. They almost give them away at lease end, if you look in the right places, granted as they are becoming more popular I have certainly noticed an increase in their resale value.
Secondly, their reliability in my eyes is awesome. My dad bought a '87 9000 turbo new and owned it for 12 years and the car never required any major repairs beyond the useal wear and tear items. My wife and I bought our first Saab three years ago ('96 900S) and we have put on average about 50,000 km on it per year and all it has required is regular changing of the fluids and the rear muffler, which I replaced with a practically new 9-3 muffler. On another note my new '96 900SET has allready cost me more in three months then our other one has in three years. So maybe my opinion will change.
