Car paint advice needed >>>

I had an accident and had to repair and repaint my Saab and took it to a body shop that was supposed to do a good job but unfortunately I did not turn out too good. The problem is that first of all they left a lot of some sort of white powder between the doors and the car body. I look like the stuff that is used to compound the car after painting.
But what I worry the most is that the car is starting to chip pretty bad on all the parts that were painted on the car. It looks as if the paint is not that solid. I am not an expert at painting a car and have no clue on how a new paint is supposed to be treated. Should I wax the car?
Any advice? Is this normal?
Chris
