they were just going to turn it into Pontiac or Saturn. Who cares if they use some components from other platforms. The new 9-3 shares some components and it appears to be the best driving Saab to date! Name me one other automaker that doesn't use some part from some other company or other car model? Who can create all their own components themselves when they built a car? If they get rid of all the Saab engineers and start designing in Detroit, then I will start to worry. This will not happen because the Saab engineers are leaders in inovation and GM now has the patents from Saab research. These engineers are needed for GM to compete in the future. Saab has a worldwide appeal and GM will keep a Saab a Saab and will make Saab even more Saab. We will have a lot more Saab models to choose from in the future, from the 9-3SS to radical trend setting Sonnets, Aeros and Viggens. I'm very optimistic.
Best, KB.
