announced that they were cutting 1400 jobs and 450 of those were engineering jobs. I'm guessing that this means future product plans are tentative at best.

The high output 9-3 was planned for late '04 with 275-290 hp but didn't include AWD. To put AWD under the Epsilon platform it has to be raised because it wasn't designed from the start to have AWD. And obviously raising the ride height on a performance car is not a good thing. So the high feature 9-3 will be FWD. If it happens. Raising the chassis to include AWD on the 9-3X makes sense so if the 9-3X happens it will have AWD, but it certainly won't be a performance car.

And your guess regarding Debra's SUV is spot on, but I disagree that a rebadged Bravada is better than a rebadged Aztek. The Saab version of the Rendevous was pretty good looking, had good interior space and a transverse engine that was effectively FWD w/AWD once slip was detected. But the Bravada is a truck with fair interior space, a longitudinal engine and RWD/AWD. Which one sounds more like a Saab?
