Exner's work on Chrysler concept cars with Ghia in the early '50s.
Take a look at the two sketches in the upper left hand corner of the attached link - ignore the grille, of course, and you can see where the seeds of the KG styling came from.
No doubt that Ferdinand Porsche contributed significant engineering work that his group did with the engine and chassis while Ghia worked out the details of the styling and body production engineering.
