But nonetheless the warranty contract law starts out pretty much the same place around the country because of the Uniform Commercial Code being adopted in 49 states, with some variation. If it were you in continous ownership, you should win on the facts stated as long as you know who did the work. Your problem may arise because you bought used, perhaps after the warranty expired -- the facts count big time, every time. You might be able to go against a seller, but again the facts matter. Dealer sale? Saab dealer that did the warranty work? Individual sale? Transferable warranty? An "innocent" individual with an "as is" bill of sale? A not so innocent individual who knew there was a continuing problem but chose not to tell you and which defect was not immediately discoverable on inspection before buying?

Try the seller for the original owners name. DMV data may be available if you have that friend and such is legal in MI. Try the state DMV for consumer help that may be available, although I fear what the automotive lobby in MI might do to hobble the government helping out car purchasers --look what they did for seat belts and air bags in Washington for years. Your state Attorney General might be some help.

Going to the owner or service manager of whoever did the work can work with the fact and just show them the story, without threatening the "legal" solutions. Good people tend to make things right when it is brought to their attention properly. They probably would not want the reputation of some disgruntled employee doing something wrong which they did not correct. Since this problem is small, it is likely chalk it up to experience time.
