Smit Salvage started to empty the vessel of oil on December 20th. This was estimated to take nine days. More diving is to take place in order to decide how a safe salvage will be performed. The damages are not very serious to the hull and the sea is shallow at the location. From what I have heard through the grapevine at work the vessel will be salvaged early this spring as it sank in a shipping lane in one the busiest waters of the world.
