of the world often. Prices for camera and electronics are not that much cheaper if at all. However, they do offer world wide warranty on many of these products if the shops are true reputable duty-free shops. Consumer goods are so competitive these days, what you get there are about the same you get over here. The difference actually would amount only to your sales tax if you buy the product in a store. You can of course do the usual internet thing and cheat your state out of some $ or via mail order.
However, what you may find over there are some models or products you cannot find in the US, but not necessarily limited to duty-free shops. If you find small items that you like and you don't mind not having a warranty, i.e. if their prices amount to what you would lose in one night at Las Vegas, then by all means go and buy them as if they were expandables.
However, I have found watches to be more of a bargain in Asia. No, I am not talking about fake watches at a street corner. These are real name-brand watches in legitimate stores. It is hard to bargain with the price in the US for good watches, such as a Cartier, but you get genuine discounts AND world-wide warranty over there. Unfortunately, I'm not a big watch fan and I still wear a $20 Casio bought in the US 10 years ago :-).
