I just wanted to thank everybody who gave me advise the last few days about my destroyed transmission. I went to court today and settled the case for more than they had previously offered. The Pro Lube owner was there, who I never dealt with before(just the manager). He didn't have much of a defense, but said what proof was there that I put a new transmission in 2 months prior to the oil change. I pulled out credit card receipts and a cancelled check.

Then he said something about dishonest people. That really hurt. I just wanted what I am entitled to, and more than the money - A customer's legitimate complaint should not be dismissed without investigating. I told them that my car rental costs were so high because I delayed the work hoping the oil change place would look at the car. I wasn't trying to pull a fast one.

There are still a lot of questions that will never be answered, but you guys here have taught me one valuable lesson. As I look back I realize that a lot of the repairs I have had to do are because of shoddy workmanship on the people I trust my car's service too.
