Thank you for your feedback. I do agree that old school is sometimes good school. Due to my geographic location, it is extremely difficult to sell a Saab locally and in-person, although it would be my preference to do so. I have had several very successful automobile transactions via internet communication and correspondence over the past several years. Luckily, I was cautious enough to not allow this particular scam to be completed. I knew quite some time ago that the deal was a hoax, but in order to notify the authorities, it was necessary for me to take receipt of the fraudulent cashier's check and deposit it. I am not out any money and have not been negatively impacted by this scam, but I thought it necessary to pursue investigation and prosecution for the sake of other automobile sellers. I never had any intention of shipping the car to Africa. In fact, the way the scheme works, an agent in the United States is to take delivery of the car, and the cashier's check is even from within the aforementioned. It's a rather complicated subject, but I suppose that should immediately raise the red flag in itself. I am not seeking compensation for the fake cashier's check or anything of that sort. I am simply requesting any suggestions or advice any of you might have in regard to contacting various authorities to hopefully cease this practice. I greatly appreciate your input and hopefully this has cleared up a few things. Drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
