...and the right front tire blew at about 50 mph. It was actually rather less dramatic than I expected, I just eased the old boat-like Volvo to the side of the road, and practiced my favorite "changing tire in unfamiliar car on black rainy night" routine. Panic causes the other part of these sort of "accidents".
If I had to pick a tire to blow out, it would be the one on that jerk's SUV that would cause him to flip off the road and die in a smoldering wreck a few miles ahead of me as he yakked away on his cell-phone. Hopefully it happens soon enough that he hasn't had time to breed. I'm a big believer in Darwin.
