Depends on what matters to you, of course.
If I were buying a new car right now, as a daily-driver, my short list looks like - and, sorry Saabers, I see no reason to shop front-drive this time 'round:
Benz E55 wagon (yes, they're selling them in the US now, lots of money, not cheap to run, E55s are freeway warheads but not ideal back-road carvers, love wagons.)
Benz E320 CDI (money to buy but 30+mpg and fairly quick, not sure if they sell the wagon in the US, wish they did the sport package on the CDIs.)
Mitsu Evo (gray, no wing, huge fun but not ideal from a comfort/bells and whistles perspective.)
Pontiac GTO (fast, HUGE value, beautifully comfortable, I'm not a coupe guy though.)
Cadillac CTS-V (fast, incredible chassis balance, comfortable, roomy enough, good value, shame it's not a wagon.)
