if you haven't driven one go do it!
The CooperS with the 6 speed is absolutly amazing. My girlfriend and I went and test drove both the CVT transimissioned-base (automatic) and a Cooper S.
On that test drive it was pretty clear that the base model probably isn't worth owning if you appreciate performance and that the CooperS needs a limited slip differential, and starting with this year model year there is an optional limitied slip. That S model makes my modified 230 WHP 9-3 feel like a bowl of oatmeal afterwards.
Of course, if you are buying one you might want to wait for next year when I believe they will be switching from supercharged to turbo-charged induction. As is, under bonnet is VERY tight so DIY might be tough...
Still, very cool cars with a bunch of actual useable interior space.
