In Hawaii, Dollar Rent into Chrysler stuff big time, had the 300 on both Maui and Big Island. Gave the cars a workout, driving to Hana, up Haleakea(2), Volcanoes Park on Hawaii and various other trips.
This is the uglist car I've ever spent time in, but overall not a bad car and enjoyed the rear wheel drive on the hairpins to Hana, going late (6PM)in the evening, and able to push the car aggressively. It was the 3.5 l engine. Ripped both side skirts from the car going down a road I should not have traveled. For a large car the handling was a nice surprise.
I have two 9-5, a 1999 SE0 and 2004 ARC. I'd rate the Chrysler superior overall to the 1999. Saab has much better seats, much better visibilty, better fuel economy, better steering and road feel, and at least decent styling.
I liked the smoothness and even response of the 300 engine, and the car was much quieter inside than Saab, and the climate control system worked much better than either of my Saabs. And looking under the hood the engine, in particular the accessories would appear to be very easy to service.
But I would never buy a car as ugly as these 300's are, and the lack of visibilty to the outside is a real drawback.
