I'd have to say this is gonna come down to pure preference. As you'd expect, the 5.3l will net you slightly better economy, the 6.0l mote power. Other than that, they're pretty equal trucks; I suspect the Denali will hold its value slightly better, but it's hard to wrong with a Chevy truck (as opposed to a Chevy car :).
My '87 Suburban with a 350 is now at 205k and pretty much everything is falling apart around the drivetrain. :D
