I find myself looking at them on ebay all the time. Dollar wise its a lot of car for the money, but if you are looking at buying something to keep in your garage and only use to take your wife out to dinner in, I'd look into a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow.
A fellow who's SAAB I occasionally work on bought one a couple years ago, I put new tires on it for him and installed new points. I've been in love ever since. It has a pressence no other car can match. Very stately looking, and silent to drive. The 6.2 liter v8 makes gobs of torque, and you can hardly hear it run. I've never driven a car that made me want to own it as bad as this one. 1967-197? models are pretty resonable. Thats because RR made a lot of them. You can get a decent driver for about $10,000. Thats probably 3x what you'd pay for a decent XJ6, but come on, its a Rolls Royce.
Someday, I'll own one too.
