Thanks for the feedback. My 2003 9-5 Aero wgn 3 y. lease is ending in 3 months I have done 137Km, and this week under ext warranty SID and Turbo were replaced , I had one breakdown in all the 2 1/2 years with a dead throttle body on the highway, otherwise there were maybe 3-4 miniscule things. Less solid build but far more reliable than the 2001 9-5 I had till 140Km.
My wife,s 2005 9-5 Aero wagon at 60Km has been having electrical problems , with the Xenons cutting out suddenly ,engine warning light on, driver,s seat to for and aft movement very noisy fleetingly, and the dealer can,t find the causes"bring it in when the problems show up" , problems fixed or nil found ,only to happen again...
I would gladly get another 9-5 Aero, but with some obvious decontenting now in 2006 , am I really getting the same mechanicals, plastic under the car is thinner in some spots, the interior is definitely cheaper in small little items e.g. driver door grab bar ,the leather etc. All OK with me, IF NOT for what it MIGHT all mean prognostically with the less visible wares. Might I get electrical issues like my 05, which I did not with the other vintage years? One last option I am thinking of is buying the03 at lease end and driving it to a standstill or 300Km in 3 years at rate of 56Km per year, but that is less rational reasoning as one breakdown would mean loss of workhours and income, being on the h/ways 94% of my total travel. Any Ideas? I,d prefer to stick to GM if possible.
