this may sound a bit strange but i have no clue where to start to look,
heres the prob.
the truck is a 92 f-150 4x4
whats happening is when the steering wheel is cranked to the left to drive around a coner, when the wheel is brought back center, the rear wheels are off just a tad and keep going in the direction of the last coner, the offset of the rear wheels is not much but what the hecks happening
same as when the steering wheel is brought to the right to drive round a coner the rear wheels shift and continue the right coner when the wheel is brought straight, it sounds bad but the offset of the rear wheels is about a inch in both directions
i looked at the rear wheel axle bolts (the clamps that bolt the axle to the frame) and every thing is solid, only thing i see is the rear shocks are rusted out bad, can a rusted out shock do this or is there something else going on here.
i asked the owner when did this start happing seeing not more than a month before i was driving it and it was fine, they said after hitting pot holes the rear axle started to shift but it wasnt much at all (prob, bout 1/8", after being drove and hitting more pot holes the axle sifting when turning round coners became more noticeable.
i have no idea whats going on, help one this one would go a long way.
