Only if he have proof of that all timing/secondary chains, guides and tensioners has been replaced.
Otherwise you are looking at some $4000.00 at a Jag place to replace them or even worse having to do head/valve jobs when they break for even more money.
Jag had big problems with the secondary chain tensioner before 2001 and it is lots of info about it on the internet.
They also have problems with the Nikasil treated cylinder liner and if the car is gas flooded for some reasons, it looses the compression due to that the oil film is washed away in the cylinders (actually, many new cars have that problem due to low friction piston rings).
