I drove a 525ix before I bought my 06 9-5 SC. I did dig the BMW plenty, and the wagons were leasing insanely cheaply. Good ride, fine looks, telematics... but that car has some issues. AWD craze makes a fine RWD car slow, expensive, mpg foolish and porky. If they'd sold it in RWD, for 5k less and no iCrash controls, I might have gone that way. But.. I deeply suspect that the 5-series cupholders in a crash will mess up the passenger. The design is of hard, square edge, cheap plastic, right where you're gonna be flying if you're hit. Sloppy. Plus, no where to put a cell phone if you get the nav and lastly, runflat tires are a bummer to live with. Had 'em on a MINI and it's no party shelling out $300+ every time you get a nail.
Digging the Saab, especially for about $20K less.
