....at Saab's current price/quality points, nearly every badge on the planet competes. The Saturn line, which GM expects to compete with Hyundai easily competes with Saab in many respects. Thier new SUV is way better than anything Saab has, and the new sedan beats Saab's interiors hands down. Saabs no longer really compete with the "luxury labels" in content or price....unless you compute cost of ownership.
Some say Saab's "driving dynamics" are still way better. I really can't see that....most journalist's seem to agree with me. Remember that "the Saabs that were" cost way more in real dollars than the current crop. They're not bad cars for the money, but no longer exceptional. They compete with everything, and hope to sell the "Saab mistique". It hasn't worked well so far. GM still doesn't sell as many with the "full line" as Saab did with just the 900 in 1985.
