Now that my M is over 25k, the mpg has improved. Now in mixed urban/suburban lightly spirited driving, it averages 20-21 consistantly. Highway driving at 80-85 is 24-25, 70-80 is 26-27. Not bad for a 4000# luxo sport with 275 n/a ponies. Actually just a couple points south of my previous auto Saabs.
Offsetting the cost of fuel, is the unbelievable cost of Infiniti service. So far, oil changes....the last 2 cost $4.85 each at the dealer as I bring my own Mobil 1, and they had a free labor special going. There are NO "required" services to 100k. At 32k, my brakes still look new. It appears this may be the "cheapest keeper" since my '90 Mazda929...or my wife's '05 Mazda3...
With each passing month, the return to "new" Saabs looks dimmer and dimmer. I will own more old Saabs...but not as daily drivers again...this is just too easy...as well as satisfying...
