I've had a 3 for over 2 years. It is indeed a sweet car. Driving dynamics, fit and finish, and toys are way over what should be expected in the 20k range. The Volvo v40 is based on this car, as is the euro Focus. I am told it was designed and engineered in Japan by Mazda. The drivetrain is all Japanese, overall content is 95% Japanese....no Ford clone here..I refer to it as the "modern" 900. The handling reminds me more of the 'ol SPG than anything else I've driven...now for the "speed"..

Start with a great chasis and beef it up for sheer performance. Start with a torqey 2.3 four and completely re-engineer it, add a turbo, and almost literally hand bulid the entire package. A Euro with what this car has would cost 50 large! Check it out, this is indeed a GREAT one!

Incidently, our '05 with 27k has had NO repairs of any kind...absolutely flawless...just oil changes. I did replace the lousy Goodyears with a set of Nokian nrV's...
